Website Development

This website was originally developed as a very simple project to give the NPS a web-presence at a time when web-access was far less common than it is today. At that time most NPS communication with its members was via its periodicals (the Magazine and Newsletter) and the committee did not wish to diminish the importance of these publications by relying too heavily on its website. It would seem that this situation has now changed and there are a significant number of members who wish to see the Society's online presence improved. So, in an attempt to draw on the manifold strengths of NPS members from all over the world, a portion of this site has been allocated to a development project.

That part of the site has been made a restricted-access area, with the username and password published in the NPS Newsletter. Any members who wish to see what is going on, join in the discussion or contribute to the project are cordially invited to click

The restricted access is not due to any desperate need for secrecy but rather to avoid our experiments being made available prematurely to search engines such as Google. If they were found by a search engine, they could then be stored in a cache which would be beyond out control

Any members experiencing difficulty in gaining access may send an e-mail to webgroup@northumbrianpipers.org.uk
