<div>We are taking a Northumbrian Piping stand at the Glendale Agricultural
Society Childrens day in Wooler on Thursday 4th June when circa 1500 children
from first schools across Northumberland and Tyne and Wear visit and have the
chance to look at a selection of local/rural businesses and activities.
It was generally felt in the past that the lack of Northumbrian Pipes was a
huge hole!</div>

<div>This year, we are putting on a tent, and will have a relay of folk (all
ages) playing through the day. I am also keen to get other aspects of piping
involved - getting lathes etc in the tent may be a challenge, I am hoping to
get a table or two set up with either reedmaking, fettling, bag making going
on.</div>

<div>The aim is to capture the imagination of any youngsters (and teachers)
who may be interested - in either playing, music or the more practical
aspects of Piping.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I would be very grateful if anyone on the making front felt they could
give some time to come and either play, chat, or do a bit of making in public
(prob the bits that don't involve heavy metal!) - so that small children can
come and have a look.</div>

<div>Bag making would seem to be quite doable in context, prob reed making,
fettling, as well. If you felt you could support, I would be
enormously grateful - let me know and we can flesh out a plan to suit.
Or if you have any other brilliant ideas to capture the imagination.
