Benefits of Membership

  • Members are entitled to attend General Meetings and vote (if they are over 16).
  • Members may stand for election to the Executive Committee (if they are over 16).
  • Members are entitled to receive the Society's Annual Magazine and Quarterly Newsletter.
  • Members may purchase Society Publications and Merchandise at discount.
  • Members will recieve an address list of Society Members.
  • Members are entitled to attend Society meetings and other functions.
  • Members are admitted free of charge to the Chantry Bagpipe Museum in Morpeth, Northumberland
  • New Members receive an induction and information pack.
The above is taken from the rules of the Society. Where there is any discrepancy, the rules of the Society take precedence (not surprisingly).

There are generally two Society meetings every month. On the first Monday of each month, we meet in the Chantry Bagpipe Museum for playing, some instruction, and pipe maintenance. On the third Saturday of the month we also generally meet at the museum for a social playaround event. In the summer months we try and arrange "Awayday" meetings - see program.

Other events are organised from time to time and occasionally too late for inclusion in the newsletter. Members visiting the North East of England are advised to contact the Secretary or any committee member for up to date details.
